38 Weeks Pregnant Bad Headache

7th day (Monday): Transfer Tokyo - Kyoto Nozomi 700

There. One week to go in Tokyo. Now we must get under way for Kyoto ... our bags are already loaded: we have already bought almost all gifts, more full of fun characters. (Note: we arrived with two suitcases with an almost empty:))

The owner of the Ryokan helps us get the luggage. It is time to pay the bill, no surprise. I leave a little note in the Guest Book to express our satisfaction. We offer small souvenirs each of us and we propose to accompany Ueno Station by car! Royal Service! Super cool! In turn we offer them a small bag of candy: caramels authentic made in Normandy. They are excited ..... it was that or a pie! I opted for some more caramels to carry! : P

Anyway, overall satisfaction Katsutaro RYOKAN . There are very strong chance they will return if we go back to Tokyo!

Halal'm a little sad to leave the nest but hey wonderful discoveries await us .... then towards Ueno station, subway to Tokyo Station, one passes through a Akihaba LAST time ... sniff. There will have to somehow manage to take 2 train tickets for Kyoto. This time I had no information in advance: tickets had not been reserved, no idea of the price ... the only thing I knew was the destination (yet happy: p) and I knew we would take a Nozomi , the TGV, which borrows the Japanese Shinkansen (high-speed tracks, the term is often equated with SHINKANSEN train but it is really fast lanes). Schedules? Ha! it's no problem, Japan trains there every ten minutes! It was quite good, despite my apprehension: imagine more housing in Tokyo, if we get stuck as it is a TGV Express 1H after we find ourselves in Tataouine (well I exaggerate a little! ... it's just an expression !).... The Serigne M'Baye song in mind (Let my forehead touching the ground, or my fist tight, I will like the almighty .../... ....( Love thy neighbor )) All my guides in hand, my limited Japanese tourist chaotic I'm doing anyway! 2 tickets for a 11:33 direction Nozomi 700 to Kyoto (~ 26,000 yen or approx ~ 650 Frs. 100 €) YES!

I introduces me a bit too quickly in the train when the train arrives in station is supported by a cleaning crew that runs for 10 'around. Well they ' m'éjectent ' kindly: p but I could make sure it was the correct train. :) ... So we must wait quietly ... like everyone else. Did you see the class of this train! The TGV Formula One!

We place:

Some clever satisfy r angements Choo:

While I m formless Environment:
(For those wondering, the Green Cars are the first class.)

During the journey we cross the suburbs Tokyoite, country Japanese:

about 2:45 to reach the Kansai .....
En route we will be happy to see the Fuji Yama:

but we will cross lands completely snowed! Gulp! Kyoto is slightly more South Tokyo that I told my little choo there would certainly be a bit better! ... And then it snows! (In the region of Gifu-Nagoya certainly)

Eventually it will come to Kyoto because it does not snow and the climate is substantially identical to the capital.

I made myself to Astro to find our way ..... ;)

For our stay in Kyoto, I had booked a non smoking room, high, king size bed in a Western-style hotel on the Internet via AsiaRooms The Maruko Inn .

In my research, I noticed that many hotels offered were located near the station, and I thought it would be annoying with the noise from the railway business ... so I selected an institution little farther .... good actually, and I do not know, but he was really at hand! Located 1H walk from the station! 1H walk that does not scare us ..... but an hour's walk with suitcases in hand and without lair is still not clear! So

information request repeatedly in the streets to demand the police station, etc ... etc ... Well it is not obliged to know everything either, and the Japanese themselves are often lost, but nobody really knew where it was! I presented my docs in English, Japanese, plans, but they were vague ... except the neighborhood, see the street (Nishinotoin) otherwise no one knew this hotel!

Slowly, we went there and fortunately after 30 to 45 'galley, a man in the car stopped and he offered to help. We appreciated the offer, even if at first they did not know whether we should accept or not. This gentleman himself was inquiring as and as the route, sometimes leaving us alone in the car! Finally, it has kindly dug up the hotel and dropped us at the entrance taking care of our luggage. Arigato no michi San. (Thanks Mr Unknown)

The hotel was, and is certainly still down at the bottom of a driveway in a street perpendicular to the long axis.

this picture (repatriated from the Internet site Rakuten ), one can see that our hotel is the white building at the bottom. This is a picture that was taken from the street .... so you see it is well a dead end and so it is not clear to find!

After some explanations due to our Purchase AsiaRooms, we handed over the reins.

Not at all the same atmosphere as Katsutaro ryokan, we already regret our futon, but it's very own (without smell of stale tobacco!) And comfortable all the same ( tv, bathroom, fridge, kettle, clock radio, etc. ...). We meet on the 10th floor and the view is excellent:

Electronic Toilet (Washlet) with water jet flow variable in the program:)

(I planned to do later on various non-standard. There will be a special on the toilet, on the manhole covers, etc ... So I come back later .. . on the pot.;))

There. Transfer made. We still experienced many things.
We no longer haunts, it must start from zero.

The atmosphere on Kyoto is very different, much less tumultuous, busy. In short, we are completely disoriented, but at least warm, well-housed, as expected.
After a good bath and a good night sleep, tomorrow we will see things differently.

Can I Have Tea While Fasting

6th day (Sunday PM): Shinjuku - Omote Sando - Roppongi

... back to Shinjuku, we surveyed the streets to join Omote Sando. I wanted to go through Harajuku to attend zokus gothic, punk, or breakers ... but nay, I had to crash! We went back through the Meiji-dori, a main artery, I think we should follow the Yoyogi Park to find them. Too bad. It will be for next time! ;)

Hop, we arrive at Omote Sando, and we will be able to shop that was closed earlier in the week: the Oriental Bazaar . There are things Japanese not too expensive ... even the opportunity to find gifts. :)

Japan is the land of the rising sun of course, but we must also bear in mind here that if he gets up early, it also goes down early (16h30-17h max ), and as we still spent some time at the Oriental Bazaar, emerges when it is already dark! So, we took the opportunity to make our first sushi restaurant .... after considering the establishment a bit, rates (depending on the color of the plate) go there (Ikee):

And yet once, no sushi (ha ha ha! ": p). We go, we sat down to table, in fact around the sushi bar. There, as in many restaurants as we have done a good atmosphere. The cooks are in the middle, they prepare the dishes live in what's missing squinting at the bar, and sometimes they are preparing a specialty at the request of a customer request .... made out loud ... it puts atmosphere!
So we have before or accompaniments usual: soy sauce and wasabi (the best I could taste in Japan!), washer ginger marinated, and cold water at will. We take what we want when we want, quietly. We are well treated, 4-5 plates each and all for an equivalent of 12 euros ! Twelve euros!

In France, for 12 euros to 2, you're doing just to McDonalds with industrial food, tasteless, as quickly spent qu'avalée (from the glycemic index of the components used: bread sandwich + French fries!) + coke cut with water. In Japan, you have the right, on the equivalent of our Champs Elysees to noble components, prepared in front of you (=> costs), with a smile and the joy of having done a job well done. Pffiiioouu still a good slap! FRANCE! Rich country for the working poor.

Ok, the belly full, it roars to Roppongi Hills ... always on legs! :)

In the distance we see the Mori building up an exhibition space, including a museum, and from which you can access an observatory: the Tokyo City View . info about it HERE and THE .

When
happens, it's a little late, and of course access to the observatory floor and we are not allowed. M'enfin we will have the opportunity to discover Mom, a spider-shaped sculpture by Louise Bourgeois which is a usual place of meetings with the people of Tokyo. The opportunity to make some shots:

Sure Roppongi contains many other attractions, other merveilleusetés and it will return. Obliged! ;)

Day .... ... ends, our stay in Tokyo ends ... we'll have to prepare for the luggage. A twinge of sadness ... well we started to get our bearings, and I really liked this city! Damage. Back on

Ueno, I decided to go to a small Onsen (public bath) is located not far from our ryokan.

A great experience, truly unforgettable, I promised myself to make in preparing this trip. It is timely appointed, after a day's walk still exhausting, it will conclude this very last day in Tokyo. Of course I did not Photo! I will not take pictures in an establishment where you can bathe in its most simple device! : P

6th day (Sunday AM): Ghibli Museum

Sunday morning

Daily Schedule:
- visit the Ghibli Studios,
- come back to Shinjuku-Harajuku
(secret objective: to discover troops horniest young follower Cosplay and co ...)
- end of the day at Roppongi, a neighborhood, its buildings, and Mom.

This Sunday, another great achievement date! YES!
The day we will discover museum, showroom studio Ghibli!

It is deserved! For to go, the gaijin (foreigners) have to book three months in advance via a partner company JTB mandated by Ghibli ( UNIVERSAL NETLINK INTERNATIONAL for France, you can contact them at this address UNL @ JTB . en). Dice reservation, purchase the ticket, you must set a date and at this date and not another that can visit the Museum! By cons, there was freedom of schedule by booking a life JTB.
So three months ago, we knew that Sunday, March 11, 2007 we would go there ... Magic (because of booking for all is super well, along with UNL was already dealt with a Jap) and at the same time worrying : he can go without things in 3 months and the fact that the deadline is too far away makes the wait exciting!

For more info go to for this Ghibli Museum, click HERE (in jap) and HERE THE (for the French). :)

...
...

This Sunday, it's raining, windy. No matter, we make our way in we parrying an umbrella available at the output of our ryokan. In Japan, there are bins umbrella self-service everywhere, leaving the shops, restaurants, hotels ... it is used, and just put it in a drawer when it has greatest need. Practice! Instead, our good the end in the trash because it has completely turned with the wind he was doing! : P

Again, the trip was to study because the Museum is located Mitaka (三 鹰 市) in the western suburb of Tokyo, and it is not next door! Everything is going well, except for the time .... metros are pretty deserted .... it is Sunday morning around 9-10am in same time!

After several changes of subway in Tokyo and a half hour by train from Central Station to Shinjuku, we arrive at Mitaka.

(This photo was made in return ... when the weather was warmer ... you'll find that Ultraman was one of us:))

the morning, nobody knew yet if it was going to the Museum on foot or by bus .... but then saw the time of m ---- we hesitate anymore! Have yet to find where it is ... but in Japan, service company (70% of the population force works in the service) we are never really lost: young people waiting at the bus stop and we confirmed that this is where we must wait. A few minutes later, a bus comes in the colors of Ghibli, and after ~ 20 'bus through the streets of Mitaka here we are! YES!

Sorry, I could show you more, the cameras and apn is prohibited inside, but know that the place is really intoxicating. To do without hesitation! The opportunity to experience the universe Ghibli film to understand some cog, buy exclusive goodies! : P A good time past.

Go hop back in town:

Starting A Waxing Business From Home

5th day (Saturday PM): Asakusa (浅 草) -> Nakamise dori and Senso-ji

I had planned to go to Ueno Sensoo Ji walk by walking Inaricho , neighborhood in which we can find all kinds of religious articles of quality craftsmanship (lacquered boxes for storing the Buddhas, paper lanterns, flowers and copper ...), Kappabashi Dori Street on which trades in all that was attractive to the food (cooking utensils, dishes false resin, etc. ....).... but as it is already 14h I thought, and rightly, that we would not enough time ... so we take the subway to get to the Sensoo Ji ........ If you are interested in everything that we can find between Ueno and Asakusa, I suggest you make HERE. We therefore landed

Metro, the local atmosphere is pretty cool, not a frenzy like Shibuya or Ikebu .... however it is populated. We quickly found our target, the Nakamise Dori ('internal shopping street, about 250m): a street lined with traditional shops and confectionery, clothing (Kimono, Yukata, Obi (belt), Zoor, and Geta Tabi .... Well enough to spend more hours!

To access, you must pass the Kaminarimon, the 'Gate of Thunder. "Burned in 1865, rebuilt approx. 100 years later, she is guarded by incorporation of two gods: Fujin (right - from God wind) and Raijin (left - God of the thunder).

So people, come to the premises Sensoo Ji in Asakusa to walk around, do Shop:

Small video specifically for Myu (same as on your pastry work: p) ... making cupcakes on Nakamise dori:

Trade Works! ... ;)

But they also come to pray .... seek the favor of Kannon, the goddess of compassion.

Before accessing the temple, people approaching a smoking cauldron (the Daikoro) and send them to smoke to try to stay healthy .... and then line up (onion, .... the Parappa. .: P) to access the hotel where they will light a candle or just a prayer. Watch the video:

People are coming in costume will let themselves well to take a picture:

Then they leave Asakusa by making a remark on an architectural design .. .. it must be said of dubious taste, and really in this heterogeneous environment Rather typically Japanese:

The 'Golden Poo ' :)
French Creation! - Philippe Stark
that would have been better off staying in bed that day!

For us, it's time to take a good dinner:

And you say goodbye ... for now ....... because the schedule of the day is totally Over: I had planned after the visit of Sensoo Ji-go in the neighborhood Ryoogoku, the district Sumosalmon and to visit the Edo Museum, but when we get in this neighborhood everything is closed! It is true that he was a little late, and Saturday and more: '/

Next day, Sunday .

Program: Ghibli Museum, Shinjuku, Omote Sando re to get to Roppongi to visit Mom.

Bye bye, see you soon.
