How Much Does Staples Charge For Faxing

NORWAY - August 1988 - PARIS / Kristiansund / PARIS - THREE WEEKS IN CAMPERS

I will spare you a few tips that we put into practice. They are of another age. I have a few photos and memories ... a little vague though the picture is good support for reviving the memory!

Warning Cards routes correspond here to a portion of the journey, not a day!

Like the previous year. We drive up tourism without making our port of embarkation which is this time: Frederikhavn in Denmark for a crossing from 7 am until Larvik (southern Norway) with Larvik Line.

We ask and immediately take out the sticks. Fishing is good and our dinner is provided, besides a boat returns to port with its cargo of shrimp already cooked on board. What a treat this kilo of shrimp!

We spend the night there.

Larvik = A - B = Kongsberg - C = Uvdal - Odda D = - E = Jondal

Our route passes by Kongsberg and Uvdal with its beautiful churches' wood standing '(stave), so called because the building structure based on large piles driven deep into the ground.

is also where we encounter the first housing insulation to the roof covered with green grass.

We can not resist the call of the fungus for a miraculous collection of mushrooms and other mushrooms.

It's everywhere along the roads and nobody seems to touch it. We end up doubting and even bear to look at a pharmacy in Geilo. But it seems that these pharmacists are only sellers of products in all cases they have no knowledge of mycology. So we decide to eat, what type of fungus that could at worst having bad taste. And they prove delicious!

We consume large quantities throughout the trip without knowing that they feed on the radioactivity of the ground ... and Chernobyl, there was not so long ago!

Then we cross the very wild Hardangervidda. It is an immense plateau at an average altitude of 1,200 m. He is currently the largest national park in Norway.

The landscape in the short vegetation is interspersed with lakes, mountains and glaciers in the distance. By placing the foot on the ground, it's like walking on a carpet made of incredibly thick moss, heather and bilberry.

Do longer seeing the end without encountering any city, so although it does not really dark at these latitudes in August, we prefer to stop there for the night rather wander the uncertain search for another place to sleep. It was not very relaxing due to traffic as incredible intense.

Continuing our journey, they are falling of Voringfossen. Then in Odda, those Lafefossen.

We visited a branch of the Hardangerfjord to cross in 20 'tray, Jondal.

Across the road leads us very quickly in Bergen we visit before spending the night on the port with other campers.

The early morning is waking up band for all: is market day and we are asked to go elsewhere to plant our camp nomad!

Fanthof's Church in Bergen.

A = Bergen - Gudvangen B =

We continue to Gudvangen in the end to cross Naeroyfjord Kaupanger up (2 hrs 15)

In 1987 often along roads are incredibly narrow the gap for a vehicle like ours, but the Norwegians used to tourists, we make it easy to maneuver. Buses, trucks will even allow us to reduce commit ourselves in ways that are often less than 4 meters wide.

The waters of the fjord-mirrors reflect the mountain.

And then we'll be witnessing something quite unusual for us: the transhipment of passengers in the middle of the fjord!

We enter the Sognefjord.

And here Kaupanger.

Kaupanger A = - B = Stryn

A Olden (just before Stryn) we leave the main road that leads to the glaciers. You can see the Jostedal. That we're going to Briksdal.

is where we spend the night not without first being purchased in a shop factory, a beautiful jacquard vest Norwegian wool, with metal clips so frog so special.

Stryn = A - B = Andalsnes - C = Kristiansund

Gerangerfjord We skirt on a small portion. After crossing the Norddalsfjorden to Eidsdal Andalsnes we win the famous winding Stigen Troll (Troll Road) Awesome!

A few more miles and some passages in ferry, we arrived in Kristiansund, a town of no particular interest.

Like every day, Germain fate fishing rod and goes back to ensure what the meal tonight. During his stay, we eat almost nothing but fish from our fishery (Virginia is already showing great skill in this area) mushrooms, blueberries and raspberries picked in the forests.

Leaving Kristiansund in the evening on the island of Kvalvåg, waiting for the next ferry, Germain will clean the fish in the fjord while I was picking raspberries with Virginia. Nearby there is a single detached house. The berries are of extraordinary size compared to those previously collected. So when the owner approaches, I have come to doubt the origin of the fruit. Will I on his land? No, not at all, it just offers me to come to pick him as Currants!

He calls his wife and the conversation continues in the only language we have in common: German. I will eventually learn that she is Polish and he is German, both immigrants in Norway.
They invite us to take a shower at home ... we would feel bad?! At dinner, and finally sleeping. Three days later we're still here!

After walks, fishing trips by boat, day and night long discussions on our ways of life, we are left covered with gifts.

rewarding These three days have hampered the pursuit of our trip to Tronheim and it directly as we resume our journey south. A ferry awaits us ...

Kristiansund = A - B = Lillehammer - Oslo C = - D = Larvik

A stop at Lillehammer Olympic city yet.
Although this city is twinned with Autrans in the Alps, here we have never heard of this village in Vercors! Explanation will be given to me later, twinning has never been active.

Before returning to Larvik, we stop for another visit to Oslo.

Its eco-museum and
Peninsula Bygdoy
